My something blue - A family heirloom ♥

As of today i have yet to have chosen my "something blue", and i'd love for it to be something i pass onto my sisters (& they continue to pass onto the next sister) the day they get married. Starting a family tradition sounds like the something blue should be a bracelet, earings, pin or something that can be attached to the inside of the dress?

Even if it's a bunch of little charms on a safety pin like cosmictrinkets on Etsy has made, which i very much love this idea because as it's passed on to the next sister, they can add more brooches...

I know that whatever it will be, it'll be special to me & once passed down, it'll be special to my sisters too :)

I'll keep looking for something meaningful & will keep you updated on this post in the future.

Kids at a wedding???

Although it's a commonsense norm NOT to bring kids to weddings, we have decided to remind you that weddings are for adults only. No "but", "if" or exceptions of any kid, so start making childcare arrangements!

Photobucket

In addition, we prefer no children at our wedding for many reasons:
  1. Distance. The venue from our hometown is way to far for kids to travel.
  2. It's a farm! Not a playground or a vacation suite where kids can roam everywhere.
  3. The area is unknown to us and we don't even know how far to the nearest hospital in the event anything were to happen to your child(ren).
  4. We would prefer if you were child free so that you may relax on our special day.

P.S. and if Coco can't go & I made arrangements for him to stay elsewhere, you can to ;) Thanks for understanding.

Dinner Menu

Okay. Let's talk food. There will not be more than 35 people so I can surely have Yali cater the food and since were having Buffet style everyone will eat and take home too ;) it's what people go to weddings for anyway lol to EAT! so I was thinking of the following menu:

Made & framed the signs 7/1/11 ;)

String Lights for Outdoor Dancing

I need to start looking for the lights that will be on at night for dancing. It'll be outdoors most likely. OR, we can have it on the porch or in the livingroom. There's so much space at the farm house. Possibilities are endless. I just know i'd like to start thinking about the dancing area. It'll mainly be slow dancing, because it's our favorite, but who knows. Us being our own DJ and all lol.

The perfect entrance & branch arch for the ceremony

I'm thinking this is what I'm looking for. Just some old curtains as our alter :)

Photobucket

i found some lace ones at the thrift store & we love the idea so much more!

As simple as these are, I love the idea of the programs attached with the fans on every seat for the ceremony.

Oh and I found the fans at AC Moore so when the 60% coupon comes out I'm getting them ;)

Okay, I've given this a lot of thought. I want the chairs angled like the letter "U" and through the middle, on the ground, I'd like some swirled yellow petals. And since I'm having my mom AND dad walk me down the isle, I'll need space in the middle :)

12/28/10 Update:

Okay, I was just bored so I was thinking (haha that's all it takes). Anyway, I know I want the chairs on a "U" angle and space in between somewhat like this ...

Can you understand my drawing? :D just felt like sharing.

Invitations engraved on wood

A few weeks ago, during my etsy finds, I found Rob from Bullfrog Laserworks and today I received our invitation sample. It is BEAUTIFUL! I've never seen such invitations, and for our rustic theme it's perfect.

i ♥ burlap & lace!

Okay, so for our table decor I figured we'd need something rustic, yet nice. So why not burlap & lace? Burlap table covers & yellow lace table runners are the perfect fit here. Our rectangle tables will be lined up & connected on the porch for one long feast with our family & friends :)
